Uma Bharti Sets Sights on 2029 Elections with Focus on Cow Welfare

Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti has made clear her intention to contest the 2029 Lok Sabha elections from Jhansi, maintaining that she has not been sidelined within the party. Bharti, who served as a Union minister, emphasized her readiness to run if the party supports her candidacy.
The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister outlined her political priorities, which include advocating for cow welfare and the Ganga river. She announced plans to launch a cow conservation campaign involving farmers and Gram Panchayats, starting on Gopashtami day. Bharti also proposed that the BJP government provide two cows each to women beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana.
Bharti underscored the need for 'One Nation, One Election', arguing it would streamline development processes. She also weighed in on Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's comments about the name 'Gopal' for Lord Krishna, describing Yadav as "naive" and advising politicians to avoid becoming scripture experts.
