NHRC Alerts on Human Rights Violations in Maharashtra, Odisha, and Haryana

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken a strong stance against recent incidents in Maharashtra, Odisha, and Haryana, highlighting serious human rights violations. The commission has issued formal notices to respective local authorities, demanding comprehensive reports within a fortnight.

In Nanded, Maharashtra, four children tragically drowned in a deep pit near a drainage construction site. The NHRC demands answers on health and compensation measures for the grieving families. Similarly, a distressing food poisoning incident at Kakabandh Ashram School in Odisha resulted in one child's death and left scores hospitalized. The Odisha authorities must submit detailed investigative outcomes.

Meanwhile, in Haryana's Nuh district, two sanitation workers died due to exposure to hazardous gases, and another worker was hospitalized. The NHRC's notices to the municipal commissioner and police superintendent call for an immediate and thorough investigation. These cases underscore the need for stringent safety measures and accountability across sectors to protect human lives.
