Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed relief at the operation, emphasizing the importance of the ongoing exchanges. Both nations have been involved in numerous prisoner swaps over four years of conflict, exchanging thousands of individuals.
Among the returnees, many were visibly emotional. Some had sustained injuries, and others faced legal challenges in Russia. The emotional impact was palpable as captives, draped in national flags, returned home.
