Mystery at Edapazhanji Spa: Alleged Bangladeshi Nationals Detained

In a significant development, two women believed to be from Bangladesh were detained from a spa in Edapazhanji on Friday, police confirmed. The operation was conducted with the help of the Kerala Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), highlighting rising concerns over illegal immigration.

The detained individuals, Ruma Charnabha and Rima Sheikh, both 21, had apparently posed as natives of West Bengal to secure their employment. The crackdown also saw the apprehension of spa operators Nihu Hussian and Harikrishnan, indicating a broader sweep against suspected illegal activities in the region.

The police action was prompted by a tip-off, leading to a joint operation with the local Museum Police Station and ATS. Initial investigations revealed the ID cards presented by the detained women were forged, and authorities are digging deeper into the spa's operations to uncover potential illicit activities. A formal case is set to be launched as questioning continues.
