Syrian authorities announced the arrest of Amjad Yousef, a former intelligence officer prominently featured in a shocking video that surfaced four years ago. The footage revealed him and his accomplices executing civilians during Syria's conflict.
Yousef, detained in Hama, allegedly took part in the Tadamon massacre. The disturbing video showed members of Military Intelligence Branch 227 ruthlessly shooting blindfolded prisoners lined up along a trench.
Efforts to bring those involved in the killings to justice are ongoing. The arrest follows increasing pressure to hold perpetrators accountable after former President Bashar Assad fled to Russia in 2024.
