Nine women suspected of planning a dacoity onboard the Siddheshwar Express in Maharashtra were arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Central Railway. This operation unfolded after suspicious behaviors were identified at Kurduwadi railway station, associated with a broader network of criminal activities in the Solapur and Pune divisions.
According to the RPF, an observant Crime Prevention and Detection Squad noticed suspicious movements by three women on Wednesday night, triggering a series of alerts across the railway division. This surveillance led to the identification and detainment of the suspects on the Mumbai-Solapur Siddheshwar Express.
The suspects were revealed to be part of a dacoit gang operating across local railway divisions. Arrested at Solapur station, these women, aged 18 to 40 and residents of Dharashiv district, were handed over to the Government Railway Police. Legal proceedings are underway under section 310(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as investigations continue.
