The gruesome incident, involving the rape and murder of a 22-year-old daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Officer, has revealed shocking details as the investigation unfolds in southeast Delhi's upscale Kailash Hills. The prime suspect, 19-year-old Rahul Meena, allegedly used a spare key, escalating the situation by attacking the woman as she was preparing for her civil services exam.
Rahul Meena reportedly strangled the victim with a charging cable and then bludgeoned her with a heavy object. Afterwards, he violated her unconscious body before dragging her to another room to access a locker using her fingerprint—an attempt that ultimately failed. The suspect resorted to force to break open the locker, stealing cash and valuables before fleeing.
Local police confirm that Rahul was arrested hours after the crime in an unrelated location in Dwarka, showing no remorse during interrogation and altering his statements multiple times. The investigation also links him to a similar crime in Rajasthan. This harrowing event has unfortunately highlighted the continued threats women face, prompting intensified scrutiny on law enforcement responses.
