The decomposed remains of Sudhir Patra, a real estate businessman, were discovered on Wednesday, concluding an alarming ordeal that began with his kidnapping for ransom a week prior, authorities reported.
Identified by his clothing, the body was found in a forest near Gopalpur. Kidnappers had initially demanded a Rs 2 crore ransom, but no contact was made thereafter, according to the police.
Police suspect Patra was murdered and his body discarded in the forest. Investigations focus on motives such as business rivalry and past disputes, with arrests anticipated soon.
