Nepal's Foreign Affairs Minister, Shisir Khanal, met with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, S Paul Kapur, on Tuesday. The discussion centered around ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two nations, focusing particularly on trade and investment opportunities.
The meeting, held at the Foreign Ministry in Singhadurbar, saw both parties express optimism about the strengthening of Nepal-US ties. Khanal emphasized Nepal's commitment to good governance and the construction of quality infrastructure, which he noted are priorities for the current government.
Both leaders explored potential areas of collaboration to attract large investments from US investors in sectors like tourism, clean energy, and information technology. Kapur underlined the importance of the historical relations between the two countries and voiced confidence in Nepal’s ongoing reforms to foster a favorable investment environment.
