In a recent press conference, the action council labeled the incident as an 'institutional murder' rather than a suicide, seeking a High Court-monitored investigation into the circumstances surrounding Raj's death. They plan to hold a statewide hartal on April 28 as a form of protest to emphasize their demand for justice.
Two faculty members from the college, Dr. M K Ram and Dr. Sangeetha, face allegations under the SC/ST Act for abetment of suicide, related to reported caste-based harassment. Meanwhile, separate investigations have been launched against online loan apps linked to the case, highlighting the complexity of the situation.
