In a defiant stand against alleged pressure tactics, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj on Tuesday praised Delhi High Court Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma's decision to continue presiding over the contentious liquor policy case. The case, involving former chief minister and AAP head Arvind Kejriwal, has sparked a media storm.
Swaraj criticized attempts by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to unduly influence the judiciary and build a pressuring narrative, labeling Kejriwal a bully. She highlighted Justice Sharma's decision as a reinforcement of judicial independence amidst external pressures.
Addressing the controversy, Swaraj accused AAP of being anti-women and criticized its stance on the Women's Reservation Amendment. She emphasized that personal attacks on judges by politicians threaten the integrity of the judiciary.
