Mahila Congress National President Alka Lamba has accused the BJP of intentionally delaying the implementation of the women's reservation law, terming it 'anti-women'. She argued that despite the legislation being unanimously passed in 2023, the government failed to notify it for nearly 30 months.

Speaking at a press conference, Lamba alleged that the government misled the public by convening a special Parliamentary session amid elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. She claimed the session was not about women's reservation but rather linked to delimitation, designed to cause confusion.

Lamba criticized the timing of the session, pointing out that many MPs were busy campaigning. She called for immediate implementation of the 33% reservation within 534 seats and announced a nationwide campaign for women's reservation. The Congress plans to gather signatures for submission to the President and Prime Minister during the Monsoon session.
