Notorious Criminal Nabbed After Intense Police Encounter

Shani Pandey, notorious for his criminal record, was apprehended by law enforcement following a dramatic police encounter. The exchange of gunfire resulted in a gunshot wound to Pandey's left leg, authorities reported on Monday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarvanan T revealed that Pandey, also known as Subhash Pandey, has approximately 20 cases filed against him in various police stations, including those in his hometown of Sangrampur. On Sunday night, the police orchestrated a special operation, effectively cornering Pandey at the Bisheshar Ganj intersection, leading to his arrest after the showdown.

The encounter, marked by Pandey's attempt to fire at the police with lethal intent, prompted a self-defensive response from law enforcement. Following the arrest, Pandey was treated for his injuries at the Sangrampur community health centre. The authorities also confiscated a country-made pistol, ammunition, and a motorcycle as evidence. Additional charges under relevant legal sections have been filed against him.
