Authorities have taken legal action against JJP leader Digvijay Singh Chautala and members of his party's student wing, INSO, following an event at Kurukshetra University where public property was reportedly damaged. The First Information Report (FIR) accuses them of causing damage during an event about drug abuse prevention.
The event, held on April 7, drew a large crowd, with political speeches allegedly disturbing the university's academic environment. The university's chief security officer filed a complaint indicting that political motivations were at play. Chautala, previously involved in a vandalism case, criticized the government's response.
INSO's Jaswinder Khaira claims the FIR was government-directed following a similar incident at another university. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing the case. Supporters argue the FIR is an attempt to suppress dissent, while tensions remain high on the educational front.
