China's commerce ministry said it submitted comments to the European Commission on the EU's proposed revisions to the Cybersecurity Act and pledged to take countermeasures if the bloc insists on turning the draft revisions into law.
The ministry said in a statement issued on Monday that the draft revisions would "cause substantial harm to China-EU economic and trade relations."
In comments submitted to the European Commission on Friday, the ministry suggested it remove provisions related to "countries of cybersecurity concern" and "non-technical risks," and remove or modify the criteria for identifying "high-risk suppliers" and related "restrictive measures", the statement said.
