An illegal silver melting and refining unit has been uncovered by police in Agar Malwa, Madhya Pradesh. The bust took place on Saturday after complaints from residents about a strong chemical smell led authorities to the clandestine operation.

The unit was operating in the Khirni Takiya area, with over 1,500 liters of dangerous chemicals, including nitric, sulphuric, and hydrochloric acids, found at the scene. Additionally, materials like caustic soda and urea were seized.

Two individuals, a 30-year-old named Abid and his father Maujudeen, aged 50, were arrested. According to Kotwali police station house officer Shashi Upadhyay, the investigation into the illegal operation is still ongoing.
