Nations Unite to Secure the Strait of Hormuz: A Global Maritime Summit

In a significant diplomatic engagement, India joined an international summit to discuss the security of the Strait of Hormuz. The event, hosted by France and the UK, saw New Delhi participating as an observer, represented by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

The summit was held at the Élysée Palace in Paris, with French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer chairing the discussions. This gathering marks a continued effort to ensure uninhibited shipping actions in a strategically important maritime passage.

This conference follows a similar meeting held in April by the UK, emphasizing coordinated efforts despite ongoing regional tensions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reassured that the Strait remains fully operational for commercial vessels during the ongoing ceasefire in Lebanon.
