Tiwari's case has caught public attention after his sister, Meetu Bhargava, criticized the government's efforts to facilitate his return to India. She noted Tiwari's deteriorating health, mentioning his struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other serious medical conditions.
The Ministry confirmed that the legal proceedings in Qatar are distinct from the previous espionage case, as authorities maintain communication with Tiwari, his family, and his legal representatives in a bid to resolve the situation.
