Goa Police Crackdown: IPL Betting Racket Uncovered
The Crime Branch of Goa Police dismantled an illegal IPL cricket betting ring, arresting 10 people after raiding two villas. The operation seized mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards, and other equipment, with seized items valued at IT policies and tactics.

The Crime Branch of Goa Police has successfully dismantled an illegal IPL cricket betting network, arresting 10 individuals, a police official announced on Friday.
Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rahul Gupta stated that raids were conducted based on a tip-off at two separate villas in Ribandar. The first raid, which took place shortly after midnight on April 16 at Karekar Residency, led to the apprehension of eight suspects from various states such as Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
The police seized 48 mobile phones, four laptops, 28 SIM cards, and other electronic devices, along with Rs 2 lakh in cash. Following this, a subsequent raid at a villa in Kadamba Plateau resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects. Cumulatively, items valued at Rs 28 lakh were confiscated, and cases have been registered under multiple legal provisions as investigations continue.
