Chhattisgarh police have filed an FIR against Vedanta Group chairman Anil Agarwal and others after a devastating blast at the company's power plant claimed 20 lives. The incident occurred on April 14 in Sakti district, where high-pressure steam from a boiler burst, resulting in severe casualties.
The FIR, registered at Dabhra police station, charges the individuals under sections relating to negligence and common intention. Sakti Superintendent of Police, Prafull Thakur, stated that if further investigations identify more responsible parties, they will be included.
A comprehensive probe into the explosion's cause is underway. Authorities await multiple reports, including forensic and industrial safety assessments. The opposition Congress has called for a judicial inquiry into the event, demanding accountability from the plant's management.
