Massive Scam Unveiled: Chhattisgarh's Medical Procurement Scandal

In a major development, the Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau has filed a supplementary chargesheet involving four individuals accused of massive irregularities in the procurement of medical equipment and reagents. The alleged fraud, which dates back to 2023, has reportedly cost the state exchequer a staggering Rs 550 crore.

The chargesheet identifies Abhishek Kaushal, Rakesh Jain, Prince Jain, and Kunjal Sharma as key figures behind the alleged manipulation of government tenders. According to the Bureau, these individuals, representing various medical supply companies, fabricated documents and colluded to inflate rates significantly over market value.

The investigation unveiled that Mokshit Corporation and its allied firms supplied reagents and consumables to government health services at exorbitant prices, sometimes up to three times higher than normal. This scandal highlights issues within procurement processes and urges stronger preventive measures against corrupt practices in public health procurement.
