The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has dismissed allegations of anti-competitive behavior lodged against the Adani Group regarding a solar power tender issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The complainant accused Adani Enterprises Ltd and subsidiaries along with Azure Power of engaging in practices that restricted market competition. This included claims of cross-subsidisation and the creation of entry barriers for smaller companies.
However, the CCI found that the power market consisted of major players and that the Adani Group was not demonstrably dominant. The commission also found no substantive evidence to support claims of exclusionary agreements or abusive conduct, leading to the case's closure under existing statutory provisions.
