The Delhi Assembly speaker has been provided with Z category security following a series of bomb threats, officials announced. This heightened security protocol ensures 24/7 protection for Speaker Vijender Gupta, involving a team of highly trained personnel.
According to the Delhi Assembly Secretariat, the legislative body received several threatening emails beginning around the budget session on March 23. A significant breach occurred on April 6 when an individual bypassed security to place items near the speaker's office.
As part of the security upgrade, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) quick response team will monitor the assembly premises. Enhanced measures, including automated barriers and fortified checkpoints, are under implementation to safeguard assembly members and staff.
