Tragic Gas Pipeline Explosion Claims Lives in Pakistan's Industrial Hub

A catastrophic gas pipeline explosion has resulted in the deaths of at least eight people, including a woman and a young girl, in Hattar Industrial Estate, located in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The incident unfolded near a grinding mill on the Grand Trunk Road, prompting immediate rescue efforts.

The powerful blast set off a massive fire that engulfed a nearby home, exacerbating the chaos and complicating the work of emergency responders. According to Haripur's District Police Officer, rescue teams have saved at least four women and six children, but efforts continue amid rapidly spreading flames.

Deputy Commissioner Waseem Ahmed of Haripur reported that suffocation was the likely cause of death for most victims. The situation remains fluid as rescue and emergency services strive to bring the fire under control, with several women and children already suffering severe burn injuries.
