Bengaluru Drug Bust: Police Net Major Suppliers in Citywide Raid
The Bengaluru police arrested 10 individuals, including foreign nationals, for selling prohibited narcotics. Seized were MDMA, cocaine, ganja, and ecstasy valued at Rs 11.81 crore. In a significant law enforcement operation, Bengaluru police announced the arrest of 10 individuals on Thursday. These arrests include three foreign nationals, two of them women, linked to a narcotics distribution network in the city.
Among the confiscated items were 5 kg of MDMA, 1 kg of cocaine, 21 kg of ganja, and 19 grams of ecstasy pills, with a collective market value estimated at Rs 23.63 crore. The arrests stemmed from credible information and led to the registration of cases under the NDPS Act across several police stations, according to a senior officer.
The accused confessed to acquiring narcotics at reduced prices from various sources, both foreign and domestic, and distributing them, primarily targeting the youth. The investigation is ongoing as authorities attempt to dismantle the supply chains.
