A Gurugram resident has lodged a serious complaint to the Haryana Chief Minister, highlighting concerns over a senior fire department official's integrity.
Kapil Singh alleges that Sajjan Kumar, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer, was caught accepting a bribe by the Gurugram Anti-Corruption Bureau in 2023. Despite this, Kumar has seen career advancements, surprisingly reinstated in January 2025 and given key roles in Jhajjar and Rohtak.
Singh's complaint stresses the risks of appointing a tainted officer to oversee crucial fire safety measures. He warns of the potential for systemic corruption, particularly in safety approvals that could impact public well-being, urging that Kumar's posting be reviewed immediately.
