The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday sharply criticized authorities over the handling of a missing person case in Bokaro, centered around a female skeleton discovery. The court summoned top law enforcement and forensic officials as skepticism arises on the thoroughness of the investigation.
The case pertains to an 18-year-old girl missing since July last year. Her mother, Rekha Devi, has been pushing for action since then. Despite the recent arrest of suspect Dinesh Mahto and the suspension of 18 police constables, dissatisfaction lingers.
In court, there was notable agitation regarding the absence of a DNA test on the recovered skeleton, which was needed to confirm any connection to the missing girl. The delay in basic procedures provoked stern words from the judges.
