In a dramatic encounter on Wednesday, four security personnel sustained injuries during a gun battle with a Maoist group led by Misir Besra in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum.
The clash began in the morning within the Saranda forest, under Chotanagra police station jurisdiction, and continued intermittently throughout the day. West Singhbhum SP Amit Renu assured that the injured CoBRA jawans are out of danger, with further details expected after the operation concludes.
The elite CoBRA units are part of the CRPF, specially trained in jungle warfare to counter Naxal insurgency. Significant security operations, involving CRPF, CoBRA, and Jharkhand Jaguar units, have been underway for months to eliminate Maoist threats in the region.
