In a sharp criticism levied against the BJP-led central government, Punjab AAP leader Baltej Pannu has condemned changes to the appointment rules for the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). According to Pannu, the revised rules represent a broader scheme to control Punjab's crucial river waters.
Pannu contends that the modifications, which open top BBMB posts to applicants nationwide, contravene the Punjab Reorganisation Act of 1966 and subsequent agreements. Historically, these key positions were reserved for Punjab and Haryana, he emphasizes.
Expressing determination to safeguard Punjab’s interests, Pannu declared that legal channels and governmental platforms would be utilized to challenge these amendments. The leader asserts the changes reflect an exploitative strategy targeting Punjab's water resources, and resolved to resist any such efforts.
