A senior citizen from Nashik finds himself ensnared in a legal nightmare after an extortion complaint unveiled 121 obscene videos, culminating in his arrest for alleged sexual exploitation. The scandal broke following a victim's accusation of abuse, police disclosed on Saturday.
Initially investigating the theft of a tablet from the suspect's office in Satpur, police arrested four men attempting to extort Rs 12 lakh by threatening to expose private footage of the senior citizen. Seizing assorted digital devices, authorities uncovered objectionable content involving women linked to the accused, Ravindra Ganpat Erande.
The case took a darker turn when a woman victim accused Erande of repeated sexual assault under false promises of securing her son a government position. Consequently, Erande was detained under various legal writs. The police urge more victims to step forward, ensuring confidentiality for complainants.
