India Strategizes Amidst West Asia Conflict

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has highlighted the necessity for continuous surveillance of the unfolding conflict in West Asia, urging a well-calibrated response to safeguard national interests. Singh's address came during a high-level meeting with an Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM), including ministers from various portfolios like Finance, External Affairs, and Power.

The meeting underscored India's proactive approach to mitigating the adverse impacts of the West Asia conflict on its domestic front. Recognizing the volatile situation, Singh called for exhaustive measures to protect Indian citizens from the conflict's fallout. The session revealed strategic efforts, such as customs duty exemptions on crucial petrochemical products, to stabilize the country's supply chain.

Moreover, the government is addressing potential supply issues in the domestic LPG market due to black marketing and hoarding. Singh also acknowledged the establishment of relief measures for the more vulnerable segments of the population and industries, ensuring minimal disruption amid global trade challenges. The report emphasized the government's commitment to maintaining economic stability while supporting critical sectors.
