Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is experiencing delays in its flagship fighter program, Tejas, due to disrupted software supplies. DK Sunil, HAL's Chief Managing Director, acknowledged the impact but emphasized that the situation is being managed effectively.
Addressing concerns about the conflict's ripple effect on radar and Electronic Warfare systems of Tejas, Sunil noted that, while supply was expected to face hurdles, the equipment required for existing aircraft is already in hand. He expressed hope that the conflict would conclude swiftly, minimizing delays.
The LCA Mk1A, an advanced variant of the Tejas, features cutting-edge technologies like the AESA Radar developed by Israeli Aerospace Industries ELTA. This radar supports multiple mission types and seamlessly integrates with various fighter aircraft configurations. Concurrently, HAL's collaboration with Russia on delivering fifth-generation Sukhoi 57 jets to India is progressing, with investment details awaited.
