Fuel Tanker Seizes Opportunity Amidst U.S. Oil Blockade
A Russian-origin fuel cargo initially headed for Cuba has been redirected to Venezuela. The Hong Kong-flagged tanker Sea Horse, stuck due to the U.S. oil blockade against Cuba, began discharging in Venezuela, highlighting the global impact of geopolitical tensions on supply routes.
A fuel tanker originally carrying Russian oil bound for Cuba has rerouted to Venezuela. According to vessel tracking data and a source, the tanker began discharging at an independently-owned terminal in Venezuela.
The vessel, flagged in Hong Kong and named Sea Horse, changed its course last month after being stranded in the Atlantic Ocean for weeks due to the U.S. oil blockade against Cuba.
This incident underscores how geopolitical conflicts are tangibly affecting global oil distribution, impacting trade routes and strategies.
