A devastating improvised explosive device (IED) explosion wounded nine individuals, including four members of the police force, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, local authorities report.
The explosion occurred on the Bannu-DI Khan Road near a bustling fruit and vegetable market in Serai Naurang town within Lakki Marwat district, targeting a police patrol team. The assailants affixed an IED to a motorcycle aimed at a police van, damaging the vehicle during the strike.
Bannu Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan, upon visiting the victims at the hospital, vowed that the police remain undeterred by such acts of terrorism and are steadfast in their commitment to combat those who threaten peace.
