Operation Ghazab lil-Haq: A Turning Point in Pakistan's Battle Against Militancy

Despite an escalation in militant activities, the operation's targeted strikes across the border reduced the lethality of attacks, notably decreasing civilian and security force casualties.

Pakistan observed a substantial decrease in combat-related fatalities by 35% in March, attributed to the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, according to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
The report highlighted a decline in high-profile militant attacks, although the total number of attacks increased. Notably, during March, 331 fatalities were recorded, contrasting with the 506 deaths reported in February, marking a significant improvement.
The reduction in casualties coincides with Pakistan's cross-border military actions targeting alleged terrorist strongholds in Afghanistan. This proactive stance has disrupted militant capacities, as shown by the reduced lethality of attacks. Nonetheless, militant groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan have announced an escalation in operations against the state.
