The Indian Navy was on the brink of launching a sea strike against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi disclosed. Speaking at a naval ceremony, he noted that Islamabad requested a halt to these actions. This operation, following the Pahalgam terror attack, showcased the Navy's exceptional readiness and aggressive stance.
Admiral Tripathi remarked on the dramatic decline in shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz amidst ongoing conflicts in West Asia, affecting global maritime operations. He emphasized that the seas have become central in signaling strategic intentions in today's fragmented global order.
Highlighting the Navy's commitment, Admiral Tripathi discussed the service's role in regional missions and HADR operations, emphasizing a focus on self-reliance ('aatmanirbharta') as they transition to a builders' Navy. This year alone, 12 ships and submarines have been commissioned, marking significant progress.
