Justice for Stray Dog: Cruelty Case in Maharashtra

In Thane district of Maharashtra, a heinous act of animal cruelty has shocked the local community and prompted a police investigation. A stray dog was reportedly beaten to death by unidentified individuals in Bhoirwadi, Kalyan, on a fateful Sunday night.

The incident came to light when distressing videos surfaced on social media, capturing people wielding sticks in the residential area. The dog was later discovered lifeless in the society's parking lot, displaying signs of a struggle, according to an official from the Khadakpada police station.

The gravity of the situation led a local animal feeder to file a complaint, which was further pursued by the Plants and Animals Welfare Society (PAWS). In response, the police registered a case under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage to track down the culprits.
