President Murmu Visits Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Calls for Unity and ‘Ram Rajya’ Ideals in Nation-Building

President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu on Thursday visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, offering prayers at the sanctum and participating in key religious rituals, as she invoked the ideals of Ram Rajya as a guiding vision for India's development.

The visit, coinciding with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada—the beginning of the Hindu New Year (Samvatsar 2083) and the first day of Navratri, added spiritual significance to the occasion.

President Performs Rituals at Ram Temple

During her visit, the President had Darshan of Ram Lalla and performed Aarti at multiple locations within the temple complex. She also undertook the Shri Ram Yantra Sthapana and Pujan, marking a ceremonial and devotional engagement with the temple's spiritual traditions.

Describing the moment as deeply personal, President Murmu said it was her "supreme privilege to touch the sacred soil of Ayodhya," revered as the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram.

Temple Milestones Called 'Golden Moments' in History

Reflecting on the temple's journey, the President described key milestones as "golden chapters" in India's cultural and civilisational history, including:

• The Bhoomi Pujan of the Ram Temple

• The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla

• Opening of the Ram Darbar for devotees

• Hoisting of the religious flag atop the temple spire

She noted that these events symbolize not just religious significance but also the revival of India's cultural identity and heritage.

Ram Rajya as Blueprint for Viksit Bharat

In her address, President Murmu linked the ideals of Ram Rajya with India's contemporary development goals.

She highlighted that Ram Rajya, as described by Goswami Tulsidas, represents a society where:

• No one is sorrowful or deprived

• Economic prosperity is shared

• Social harmony prevails

• Moral and ethical values guide public life

"The vision of an inclusive and developed India resonates deeply with the concept of Ram Rajya," she said, expressing confidence that India can achieve these goals by 2047, marking 100 years of independence.

Emphasis on Social Inclusion and Moral Governance

The President underscored that social inclusion, economic justice, and ethical governance are already shaping national policies and initiatives.

She pointed out that Lord Ram's life offers timeless lessons in:

• Inclusivity and compassion

• Duty and righteous conduct

• Unity across communities

Adopting these values, she said, would help build a nation grounded in morality, justice, and collective well-being.

Highlighting India's ongoing transformation, President Murmu noted that the country is witnessing a renaissance across economic, social, political, and cultural dimensions.

She urged citizens to move forward with a spirit of unity:

"Bound by devotion to Prabhu Shri Ram and a sense of kinship with all, we must work together in nation-building," she said.
