Gauhati High Court Establishes Fast-Track Court for Zubeen Garg Case

The Gauhati High Court has set up a fast-track sessions court to oversee the Zubeen Garg death case, ensuring daily trial proceedings. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that Sharmila Bhuyan, Baksa district judge, will lead the court six months after the singer's death in Singapore.

Until the new court is operational, the additional district and sessions court will handle the case daily. The Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court named Judge Bhuyan to expedite proceedings in response to a state cabinet request.

The case involves allegations against Zubeen Garg's manager and band members, while an ongoing inquiry in Singapore found no foul play, citing intoxication and drowning as factors in Garg's death.
