The Chinese platform found itself embroiled in scandal after France's consumer watchdog DGCCRF discovered prohibited items like sex dolls resembling children and weapons for sale. These findings prompted the government to seek a suspension of the platform.
Despite the controversy, Shein took decisive action by banning all sex dolls and suspending its adult products category globally as of November 3, following the watchdog's discoveries.
