High-Stakes Targets: Israel's Military Strikes Iran's Elite
Israel's military has launched strikes targeting Iran's security chief Ali Larijani, with uncertainty about his status. Larijani's potential death would mark him as the most senior Iranian official killed since the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The U.S. has offered rewards for information on Iranian military figures.
In a dramatic escalation, Israel’s military targeted Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, alongside other senior military figures. Israeli officials have not confirmed whether Larijani was killed or injured.
If confirmed, Larijani’s death would make him the highest-ranking Iranian official killed since the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who perished on the war’s first day. Importantly, Larijani was involved in recent Tehran rallies.
The U.S. has since upped the stakes, offering up to $10 million for information on key Iranian military operatives, including Larijani. Israeli media reports suggest strikes also targeted Gholamreza Soleimani, indicating significant regional tension.
