Andhra Pradesh Releases Rs 45 Crore Honorarium for Imams and Mouzans
The Andhra Pradesh government has released Rs 45 crore to pay honoraria to 10,000 Imams and Mouzans before the Ramzan festival, as directed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. This payment clears pending honoraria for six months, with 5,000 Imams and 5,000 Mouzans receiving funds.

The Andhra Pradesh government took a significant step on Tuesday by approving the disbursement of Rs 45 crore as honoraria to Imams and Mouzans across the state. This gesture comes with the directive from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, aligning with the celebrations leading up to the Ramzan festival.
An official press release confirmed the funds' release, indicating the clearing of honoraria that had been pending for six months. The announcement followed Naidu's attendance at the state Iftar event on Monday night.
According to the government's statement, a total of 10,000 religious functionaries have been credited with the allocated funds. The financial distribution stands at Rs 35 crore for 5,000 Imams and Rs 15 crore for an equal number of Mouzans.
