In a tense altercation in Bihar's East Champaran district, a gunfight erupted resulting in the death of a Special Task Force (STF) officer and two notorious gangsters. The confrontation occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in Chakia locality.
STF personnel, including the slain officer Shriram Yadav, approached the area based on intelligence reports. The criminals, identified as Kundan Thakur, a wanted individual in several Arms Act cases, and his associate Priyanshu Kumar, opened fire on the authorities in an attempt to flee the scene.
In the ensuing gun-battle, both Yadav and the two gangsters sustained injuries and later died during medical treatment. The police statement confirmed the incident and also noted the arrest of two associates, Ujjawal Kumar Tiwari and Sant Kumar Tiwari, at the scene.
