Iran's Challenge to U.S. Presence in the Middle East

He asserted that the Islamic countries will reshape regional security without U.S. influence and called for U.S. forces to leave the region.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has criticized the U.S. military presence in the Middle East, claiming it does not contribute to security in the region. In a statement to state TV, Qalibaf emphasized the need for regional security to be established by the countries within the area.

Qalibaf stated that the current and future landscape of the Middle East would evolve outside of U.S. plans. He highlighted the role of Islamic countries in shaping the regional order and security both economically and politically.

The Iranian official further urged the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region, affirming the necessity of local powers taking charge of their security affairs.
