Tragic Dowry Death: Family Arrested in Suicidal Case

In a shocking incident, police have arrested a couple and booked their son after their daughter-in-law allegedly committed suicide due to dowry harassment, officials reported on Tuesday.
The complaint, lodged by the victim's father, Shri Nath, states that Radhika got married to Kamlesh Kushwaha in April 2025. Tragically, on March 8, she allegedly hanged herself due to persistent harassment over dowry demands.
The police have registered a case under sections 85 and 80(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Dowry Prohibition Act. While Kamlesh Kushwaha remains at large, the authorities have detained his parents, Paras and Kiran, as detailed by Circle Officer Alok Gupta. Efforts are underway to apprehend Kamlesh.
