Odisha Police Rescue Student in Harassment Case

In a disturbing case of alleged sexual harassment, Odisha Police successfully rescued a Class 7 girl from a central government-run residential school in Bhadrak district. The student had reportedly fled after being harassed by a teacher, seeking refuge in a nearby village.

The incident unfolded when the young girl scaled the school's boundary wall and reached the safety of an elderly woman's house within the Kasia marine police station limits. Locals, expressing outrage over the alleged misconduct, demanded strict action against the teacher involved in the case.

The accused teacher, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was detained by authorities following a complaint lodged by the girl's father. The school, which provides free education, boarding, and lodging to meritorious students from rural areas, is now under scrutiny as police continue their investigation.
