Iqbal Bhatti, also known as Devraj Sehgal, has been deported to Pakistan after serving 17 years in an Indian prison for espionage. The deportation was carried out under stringent security measures, confirmed Senior Police Official Manoj Yadav.

Bhatti was handed over to Pakistani authorities at the Wagah border following medical examinations and necessary paperwork. Initially detained in Saharanpur after completing his sentence, Bhatti was housed at a detention center under tight surveillance.

Authorities discovered his espionage activities after he was arrested in Patiala with sensitive military documents. Initially living as a regular citizen in Saharanpur, he had established his identity using forged documents before being unmasked and convicted.
