A life convict, Robin Tamang, who had been on the run since 2021 after skipping furlough, was apprehended near Delhi's Anand Vihar Railway Station, police reported on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old was sentenced for the 2013 murder of his friend, stemming from a personal dispute. He was granted a three-week furlough on September 3, 2021, and failed to return by March 15, 2021, becoming absconding shortly thereafter.

Tamang evaded authorities by frequently relocating, assisting at roadside eateries under assumed identities across various Indian states. His trail led to Delhi recently, enabling police to capture him successfully on February 15.
