Tragedy Strikes at Rhode Island Hockey Rink

A tragic shooting unfolded at a hockey rink in Rhode Island, claiming the lives of three individuals, including the alleged suspect. Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves confirmed that three additional victims remain hospitalized in critical condition.

According to authorities, the shooting appears to have been a targeted attack, stemming from a family conflict. Outside the rink, tearful family members and high school hockey players gathered, sharing embraces before boarding a bus to leave the site.

The area surrounding the arena was cordoned off as officers maintained a heavy presence and helicopters monitored from above. Attempts to reach out to Pawtucket police, the city’s mayor’s spokesperson, and a local hospital spokesperson were unsuccessful at the time. Pawtucket, a town north of Providence known for its connection to Hasbro and iconic Mr. Potato Head license plates, is left grappling with this shocking violence.
