Arrests Made in Shooting of Migrant Labourers in Punjab

In a significant development, two individuals allegedly involved in the shooting at migrant workers in Punjab's Moga district have been apprehended. The arrests followed a gunfire exchange with police on Sunday. One suspect, Jobanpreet, sustained a leg injury during the encounter, while his accomplice, Akashdeep, was also taken into custody, according to law enforcement officials.

The shooting, which injured two migrant labourers, occurred when three unidentified assailants opened fire on a group of workers on February 10. Moga's Senior Superintendent of Police, Ajay Gandhi, revealed that the police intercepted the accused on a motorcycle, leading to the confrontation. The suspects fired multiple rounds at the police, but no officers were harmed during the exchange.

Authorities have recovered the motorcycle used in the crime, alongside weapons and ammunition. Evidence suggests the shooting was orchestrated by a foreign-based handler to disturb the region's peace. Two individuals from Ferozepur have been detained for allegedly aiding the suspects, and investigations continue to capture another accomplice involved in the attack.
